I recently served as an archaeological consultant on the City Trail guidebook The Hague and the Best of the Netherlands, which features excerpts from my Hunebed Map project. Details are on the Hunebed Map page.

As a photographer, I'm interested in natural forms and textures, and in various qualities of light, shadow and reflection that can transform the things we see in ways that suggest other dimensions. I'm also intrigued by the spirit and atmosphere of places I've visited, especially the megaliths and old stone sites of Europe.

Most photos are arranged in slideshows under the Photography menu. Others are displayed on the Prints pages. The Megaliths series appear under their own menu heading, along with a highlights slideshow.

The old stone monuments of Europe have excited the popular imagination ever since the descendents of their original builders thought they were the mysterious work of primeval giants. Scientific archaeology paints a more sober picture of their origins, but somehow that hasn't dimmed the magic that surrounds them.
